What's behind the tile

Waterproofing: a membrane system on the walls and shower pan — your real defense against humidity, not just ‘water-resistant' board.
Backer: cement or foam board in the wet area, never paper-faced drywall that grows mildew.
Tile & grout: porcelain on floors and walls, set with the right mortar and sealed grout for a humid room.

Do I need a permit for a bathroom remodel?
If we move plumbing or electrical or take it down to the studs, yes — and we pull it and handle the inspections. A cosmetic refresh that keeps the same layout, like a new vanity and fixtures, usually doesn't. We'll tell you which yours is before we start.
How long does a bathroom remodel take?
A cosmetic refresh is often one to two weeks; a full gut with a new layout runs longer, especially if we find damage behind the walls. You get a written schedule, and we sequence the work to keep your household running.
Can you do a tub-to-shower or curbless walk-in?
Yes — tub-to-shower conversions and curbless, roll-in showers are some of our most-requested jobs, and they're a smart aging-in-place upgrade. We build them waterproof and to slope so they drain right.
What if you find water damage behind the tile?
We open it up before we quote a fixed price wherever we can. If we still find soft subfloor, mold, or a shower that was never waterproofed, we show you the photo and the cost before we touch it — no surprise line items.
How do you keep mold out of a Florida bathroom?
Three things: a real waterproofing membrane on the walls and pan, a properly sized exhaust fan vented to the outside, and cement or foam backer board instead of paper-faced drywall in the wet area.
