Straight talk
Roofing in Florida has its own set of traps — most of them have nothing to do with the shingles. Here's what actually goes wrong, and how we keep your roof out of it.
After every big storm, out-of-state crews flood the Bay, take the insurance check, and botch the job or vanish before the first leak. We're local and licensed in Florida — the crew that's still here next year to honor the warranty.
Florida carriers are non-renewing homes for roof age alone. A shingle roof past 15 years can make you hard to insure. A permitted new roof comes with the wind-mitigation report insurers use to write the policy — and often to lower the premium.
A re-roof needs a permit and inspection in Pasco, Hillsborough, and Pinellas. We build to current Florida code — secondary water barrier, proper nailing, hurricane attachment — so it passes and holds in a Gulf storm. Unpermitted roofs bite you at claim time and at closing.
Not every roof needs replacing, and we'll say so. Good years left and one localized leak? We repair it. Chasing leaks every rainy season, or your carrier pushing back? We'll make the replacement case honestly, insurance angle and all.
We'll climb up, give you an honest inspection, and tell you whether you need a repair, a replacement, or nothing at all. Free, with photos.
What's included
Not new shingles over old problems — a full tear-off and rebuild, done to Florida code:
What to expect
We get on the roof, photograph what we find, and tell you honestly whether it's a repair, a replacement, or fine for now.
You get a written, fixed price. If it's storm damage, we document it and help you work the claim — straight, no deductible games.
We pull the permit and stage materials so the job runs start to finish without your roof sitting open.
Tear-off, deck repair, dry-in, install, and a passed inspection — usually one to three days for most homes.
Materials
Tampa Bay roofs take brutal UV, daily heat, and named storms off the Gulf. We install materials rated for it, and we'll tell you which one fits your house and budget.
Architectural asphalt shingle: the Bay-area workhorse — wind-rated, affordable, good for 25–30 years, installed with code nailing and a self-adhered underlayment so it holds.
Standing-seam metal: more up front, but it shrugs off UV, won't curl in the heat, and carries the highest wind ratings — smart near the water in Pinellas.
Concrete or clay tile: the classic Florida barrel-tile look with decades of life, but heavy — your structure has to be rated for it, and we'll tell you honestly if it is. We won't roof over a bad deck or skip the underlayment to hit a number.

Yes. A re-roof requires a permit and inspection in Pasco, Hillsborough, and Pinellas. We pull it, build to current Florida code — secondary water barrier, code nailing, and hurricane attachment — and have it inspected so it's on record and holds in a storm.
Often, yes. Many Florida insurers won't renew a shingle roof much past 15 years. A permitted new roof comes with a wind-mitigation report we hand you — the document insurers use to write the policy and, in many cases, lower the premium.
If your roof has good years left and a localized issue, we repair it and tell you so. If you're chasing leaks every season or your insurer is pushing back on roof age, we'll lay out the replacement case honestly — no scare tactics.
Most homes are a one-to-three-day job depending on size, pitch, and how many layers we're tearing off. We tear off, inspect and repair the deck, dry it in, and install — and we don't leave your roof open to a Florida afternoon storm.
We document the damage with photos, meet your adjuster if needed, and build to the approved scope. We will not offer to waive or absorb your deductible — that's illegal in Florida, and any roofer who promises it is a red flag.
Architectural asphalt shingle, standing-seam metal, and concrete or clay tile. We'll walk you through the trade-offs in cost, lifespan, and wind rating for your home and your part of the Bay.
Yes — ask about financing options when we meet, or see our financing page. If your roof is storm damage, we'll also help you understand what your insurance may cover first.
